카카오 자회사 카카오모빌리티는 모바일 택시 호출앱 카카오택시의 전면 업데이트 및 리브랜딩을 통해 카카오T를 출시하고 모바일 주차 서비스를 새롭게 시작한다고 밝혔다.
카카오T는 기존 택시와 대리운전, 주차, 내비게이션을 비롯해 카카오모빌리티가 앞으로 선보일 모든 이동 서비스를 망라하는 스마트 모빌리티 플랫폼으로 확장해 나갈 계획.
카카오T는 기존 각 앱에서 제공하던 택시 호출(카카오택시), 대리운전 호출(카카오드라이버), 내비게이션(카카오내비) 기능을 모두 카카오 T 하나만으로 이용할 수 있다. 앱을 실행해 화면 상단의 ‘택시·블랙·드라이버·주차·내비' 탭 중 이용을 원하는 서비스 탭을 선택하면 된다.
카카오페이 자동결제 기능을 도입했다. 한번의 신용카드 정보 등록만으로 카카오T의 고급 택시, 대리운전, 주차 서비스 요금을 별도 과정 없이 편리하게 결제할 수 있다.

지난해 2월 인수한 주차 서비스 스타트업 파킹스퀘어의 전문성에 카카오모빌리티의 모바일 역량을 더해 주차장 탐색, 입출차, 결제 등 주차 과정에서 발생하는 불편함과 시간을 대폭 감소시켰다.
카카오T를 실행해 상단의 ‘주차’ 탭을 선택한 후 주차를 원하는 지역을 검색하면 된다. 예를 들어 ‘강남역’을 검색하면, 검색 시점을 기준으로 강남역 인근에서 이용 가능한 주차장을 최대 5개까지 추천 받을 수 있다. 추천 기준은 목적지까지의 거리와 소요 시간, 요금, 주차 방식 선호도 등이다.
추천 받은 주차장의 위치 및 가격, 주차 방식 등 정보를 비교한 후 원하는 주차장과 이용 시간을 선택하면 예약이 완료되며, 예약 정보는 주차장으로 바로 전송된다. 예약 완료 화면에서 '길안내 받기’ 를 누르면 카카오내비 길안내로 예약한 주차장을 쉽게 찾아갈 수 있다.
주차 요금은 카카오T와 연동한 카카오페이로 자동 결제된다. 차량 번호 인식 설비를 카카오T와 연동한 주차장을 예약하면 오프라인 상에서의 입출차 과정이 모두 생략.
주차 설비가 차량 번호를 인식해 주차장 입출차를 자동으로 진행하고 카카오T가 주차 시간을 확인해 요금을 자동 결제하는 방식이다. 차량 번호 인식 설비가 없는 주차장이라도 요금 결제는 카카오페이로 이뤄지기 때문에 주차권 처리, 요금 정산 등 오프라인 입출차 과정이 한층 간소화 됐다.
카카오T 주차는 이용자의 편의를 제고할 뿐 아니라 주차 문화 선진화 및 주차장 수익 증대에 기여할 것으로 기대된다. 현재 카카오T 주차는 주요 교통 거점, 쇼핑몰, 공영 주차장 등 수도권 1000여개 주차장과 제휴하고 있으며, 제휴 주차장에 카카오T 연동 시스템을 무료로 제공하는 등 지속적으로 제휴 주차장과 서비스 지역을 확대해 나갈 예정.
